The book is meant for the ladies wishing to regain their bodies after pregnancy. Marianne explains in clear, easy to understand reasons why your body ends up the way it does from all the hormonal changes and stretching from growing that baby inside you for 9 months. We do not just “spring back” after a birth and it is all explained clearly, in plain language and diagrams making it easy to understand.
The author has included many references she used in preparing this informative book as well as her own experiences in her work in Physical Therapy and as a mother to help those in need of regaining their pre-pregnancy shapes and even improving on them! My roommate just gave birth to a baby two months ago and being my roommate, I'm there to experience the whole 'after birth' rollercoaster. My roommate and I are pretty close, while we aren't best friends, I do consider her to be a good friend. She had recently been complaining to me about the pains she was feeling whenever she turned over at night, how she was confused about why her belly hadn't gone back to normal, why she hadn't lost any weight, and how it hurt a lot whenever she went running. At the time of her complaints, it had only been about five weeks since she gave birth. She's a first-time mom and when she called the doctor, they explained to her that she was fine and that it was perfectly normal to be feeling this way.
So, I went and did some research.

I came across the Baby Bod book, and being a female, I know that my friend was most concerned about losing weight. I downloaded this book and hoped that I would be able to find some answers and solutions for her. In this book, I found a whole PLETHORA of information. My roommate and I would read this book together, her for learning about her body, and I to help her heal. We both learned so much that the doctors never told her. Apparently, it isn't normal to pee yourself while exercising after you give birth! There were a whole bunch of exercises, self-care techniques, and post-birth information jam packed into this book.

While my roommate gave birth the 'natural' way, this book also talked about how to take care of yourself after a c-section, which I thought it was very interesting.
If you're expecting, whether you're a first-time mom or a fifth time mom, I would recommend to you to read this book!
This book is so good that I am actually using the exercises in it and I do not like to exercise in general. It is very well organized. It provides just enough background/educational information about the body prior to providing the actual exercises that the writer recommends doing. Other books I read about this topic were either too detailed or were guessing what a woman should do with the issue of diastasis recti in her body. Instead, this author is actually a physical therapist so she has the knowledge and her program seems to me to be very sound. I recommend this book to others to understand diastasis recti and to improve their condition and it even has a section on how to do things in your daily life so as to not make your condition worse (so how to carry your baby, etc.). In my opinion the best book on diastasis recti that I have read and I have read a few... Thank you.
